In 2005, we heard those iconic words: “Leo Barry, you star!” 

That Premiership win didn't just mark a historic moment for the Sydney Swans -  it sparked the beginning of a lifelong ambition. That same year, the Sydney Swans Foundation was born. 

Now, 20 years on, the Foundation continues to shape the next generation of red and white – proudly supporting the QBE Sydney Swans Academy and future stars of our game. 

Supported by dedicated donors and members, the Foundation drives the club’s initiatives and secures its future.

SYDNEY SWANS ACADEMies

Alongside our generous partner, QBE Insurance, the Sydney Swans Foundation proudly supports the QBE Sydney Swans Academy—a key pillar in our commitment to developing future talent.

Established in 2010, the Academy provides a high-performance pathway for young athletes, helping build a strong pipeline into elite football. In 2022, this commitment expanded with the launch of the ARA First Nations Academy; a dedicated program designed to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through culturally safe coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities.

Together, these Academy programs ensure aspiring athletes have access to the resources, guidance, and support they need to thrive, on and off the field.
